Sewing Machine Components

Sewing machines may seem complicated at first but once you familiarise and understand the components thereof it makes (your sewing) life a whole lot easier!

1 = Power switch

2 = Balance wheel

3 = Bobbin winder and spindle

4 = Spool pins

5 = Bobbin winder thread guide

6 = Thread guide

7 = Thread take up lever

8 = Thread tension dial

9 = Pattern selector dial

10 = Stitch length dial

11 = Pressor foot lever

12 = Reverse stitch

13 = Needle plate

14 = Portable extension table - remove to access bobbin case

15 = Needle and needle clamp screw
